Found at the northernmost end of Highway 59, this string of friendly vacation communities boasts clean, quiet beaches, making it one of Canada’s most popular areas to play and relax.

Grand Beach rests along the eastern shore of Lake Winnipeg, Canada’s sixth largest lake and next to the historic La Vérendrye Trail, are powdery white sand beaches and grass-topped dunes that make this one of the top beaches in North America. The dunes reach as high as 8 m/30 ft.

Victoria Beach is a rural municipality in the Eastman Region of Manitoba, located on the southeastern shores of Lake Winnipeg, approximately 100 km north of Winnipeg.  It lies on a small peninsula that extends into Lake Winnipeg, and is almost completely surrounded by the lake, but does share a small southern land border with the Rural Municipality of Alexander.

What to Expect

The R.M. of Victoria Beach is a full service community with all the modern amenities one would desire in a natural, safe environment. Our communities are truly a great place to live, work and raise a family.
The area offers great schools, modern health facilities and many recreation activities all year long.

Grand Beach is part of Grand Beach Provincial Park and features 3 km of fine, white sand. A boardwalk at the West end of the beach offers food and shopping. Change rooms and plumbed washrooms are available all along the beach.

Fall in Love

Grand Beach and the East Beaches of Manitoba are just a one hour drive north of Winnipeg on Highway 59. The area has been a favourite Manitoba holiday destination ever since 1916.

It is Manitoba’s little paradise on the prairie with kilometers of white silica sand, water and sky to enjoy. Take a hike along the Wild Wings Trail of Grand Beach Marsh, or stroll the bustling Boardwalk of Grand Beach itself.

Victoria Beach hosts one of Manitoba’s largest catamaran sailing fleets, as well as other dinghies and a small number of keelboats. Located on the east side of Lake Winnipeg near the town of Victoria Beach, the Yacht Club offers both recreation + racing fun.

Community Activities

The RM of Victoria Beach offers many community run events throughout the year, but summer is when this community really comes to life.

From tennis and golf tournaments to sandcastle building contest and bike races there is something for everyone looking to be active in the community. During the summer months the Victoria Beach Country Market is available on Saturdays for community members

The Summer Winds Family Music Festival is a festival held yearly in Victoria Beach and is organized entirely by volunteers. Bringing in crowds in the thousands, the proceeds from the festival have become the main fundraiser for the new Victoria Beach Community Centre. The festival includes activities the entire family can enjoy!

The Grand Marais Recreation Centre is a Non Profit organization and is overseen by an elected Board of Directors. The year round community club offers activities for all ages. Including hall rentals, skating, senior activities, bingo, festivals and much more.
